Since she won’t be returning to “American Idol,” Paula Abdul may be taking her career in a totally different direction.

The 47-year-old says one of her post-“Idol” projects may include a talk show. Talking to TV Guide she said, “I definitely want to do a talk show considering it would be different.”

Elaborating on the potential new show, Paula explains, “It would be a lot of

fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday public getting their big chance.”

Abdul - who recently filmed two episodes of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” and will host VH1’s “Divas Live” on Sept. 17 – says her post-“Idol” life “Has been incredible. I feel like I’m having the best moment of my life right now.”
