Joan Rivers: Still On Life Support & Moved Out of ICU

She’s been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City for nearly a week, and earlier today (September 3) Joan Rivers was moved to a regular room.

Despite the transition, the 81-year-old comedienne is still being kept alive by life support machines, and the prognosis is still unclear.

Melissa Rivers told press, “My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room

where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support.”

In a statement yesterday (September 2) Melissa plus shared, “On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received. At that duration she does remain on life support. I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”
