Sleepless In Bombay: Karan Johar Admits To Being ‘Nervous’ And ‘Stressed Out’, Thanks But No Thanks To BV

That Karan Johar is foraying into acting with Anurag Kashyap’sBombay Velvet is no secret anymore. But did you know that the project is keeping him up at nights? The stylish filmmaker, who will be seen in a negative role in BV, recently admitted to being “stressed out” and “nervous” nearly all the duration. He’s reportedly worried about how the audience would react to his negative character in the romantic thriller, which is set in the 1960s.

In Bombay Velvet, we will see Karan in a flamboyant and villainous role. He plays Kaizad Khambatta, a manipulative bad-guy who tricks Johnny Balraj (Ranbir Kapoor) by invoking his greed and using it to his advantage. He’s additionally seen messing with Rosie (Anushka Sharma) in the trailer.

During all these years, KJo’s image has been that of a sweet, friendly and generous man who has many friends (and no foes) in the industry. We can, next, understand why he is so nervous about his role in Bombay Velvet. However, we plus feel that whether there’s anyone who can effectively handle such a stark change in image, it is Karan Johar.

Karan recently shared that he was made to wear lots of colours in the film, which is contrary to his style (he’s mostly dressed in black) and he just kept doing what the director wanted him to do. Isn’t Karan every director’s dream? We’re certain Anurag loved working with someone so nice.

As for his worries about Bombay Velvet, we think that Karan should rest assured that he would be loved. Everyone (including us) already loves the look and whatever little that has been shown in the trailer. We’re eagerly waiting for film to release now so that we can see Kaizad in all his glory.

Deepika Padukone’s ‘My Choice’ Receives Flak: Director Homi Adajania Takes On Attackers, Haters And Naysayers

Deepika Padukone’s short film My Choice, directed by Homi Adajania of Cocktail fame, has been one of the hottest topics of discussion on social media. Backed by the fashion bible Vogue, the video is two-and-a-half minutes expanded and at the core of it, the data is that of ‘women empowerment’. The film promotes the notion that a woman has the right to compose choices in her life and she should not be judged, no matter what she decides to do. ‘My body, my mind, my choice’ is the premise of My Choice.

Ever since its release, the film has received quite a few reactions – some positive, some negative. While the film fraternity has come out in support of My Choice and its subject matter, there are quite a few society who have pointed out that the video is hypocritical in nature.

All social media platforms, particularly Twitter, have been divided into two sections – one that supports and lauds Deepika and Homi’s efforts and one that stresses that the claims made in the video are impractical and perhaps even laughable.

We would have expected Deepika to say something about the criticism but the lady, it seems, has decided to stay away from the controversy for now. Instead, Homi has come out and lashed at the haters. He tagged all the attackers “internet trolls hankering for attention” and stressed that only those who have not understood the context are criticizing My Choice. He went on to say that we all live in a democracy and everyone’s entitled to their opinion.

Okay, that makes sense. We take in you, Homi!
