When soccer star David Beckham was asked by the mag how he felt about his status as the “gayest straight man in Britain and the blackest white man.”

In response, “Yes, I like that. When someone said that about me, it made me laugh and I was quite proud of it.” Huh? I could see the homosexual thing but black? I can’t figure out what stereotype they’re implying here. That he’s an ass man?

Today’s Recapist Highlight: The Office

In the pre-credit sequence, we get to see how the Scranton crew celebrated Halloween. The opening shot of Stanley sitting in a Creature from the Black Lagoon mask made the episode for me. Phyllis made an adorable Raggedy Ann and no one should be surprised that Kelly dressed as Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City.” Kelly couldn’t believe that Stanley wore a costume as he “hated” Halloween. Phyllis informed her that he wore the mask so he could sleep at his desk. Kelly was having trouble walking in her Carrie-esque heels and asked Phyllis to help her walk to her desk. Ryan stepped in, he gladly volunteered and told Kelly she looked “amazing.” Kelly didn’t recognize who Ryan was supposed to be and he told her he was Gordon Gekko, Michael Douglas’ character from “Wall Street” (how obscure, but how totally Ryan) and Kelly said “Oh, like on the insurance commercials.”

At the LAX airport, Kate Hudson was greeted by a gang of paparazzi who nearly seem to have jumped out from behind somewhere and yelled “Trick or Treat!” at the Fool’s Gold actress from the look on her face.

Hudson was looking quite drab in her cheerless outfit that holiday season, unlike some celebs we know. I understand Kate is traveling and probably not interested in dressing up and the last thing she feels like doing is smiling for the photographers, but whether she’s not careful, her face might stick like that.

Here’s “Officer” Heidi Montag and “Public Enemy #Douche” Spencer Pratt on their way to a Halloween party in Beverly Hills last night. Can they be arrested on charges of donkey? Hopefully, it was a pool party. And hopefully that ball and chain was fairly realistic. And hopefully, someone accidentally pushed his cheesy ass into the pool. And hopefully she got pulled in after him. Halloween is a moment for hope.

Here’s closet heterosexual Lindsay Lohan looking properly ghostly and goth (did she coordinate outfits with Mena Suvari?) at Fearnet’s 2nd Anniversary Party last night at the Cellar Bar in the Bryant Park Hotel. Does I Know Who Killed Me count as a horror film? Isn’t something you play drinking games to? Do a shot whenever she drops the f-bomb. Anyway, let’s face it. She ain’t busy and is making certain she gets the exposure. She’s going to be calling Powerball numbers next after your local news.

Good news for her, though. A man named David Kim was suing Lohan for $55,000 for VIP shield services that he claimed he provided for her and was never paid for. He has now formally dropped the suit, for an unspecified reason. Dina probably called and cursed him out.

Lohan claimed all along that she had never even met the man, let alone hired him to protect her.

So, she’s cleared of cleared of hoax, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach
of oral contract and a whole lotta state labor violations. It doesn’t seem like she took it too seriously. Lohan’s legal eagles didn’t even show up in court on Tuesday for the formalities.
